Inspiring Our Sense of Wanderlust

Have you seen the Roman Colosseum ruins, the Sydney Opera House’s impressive sails, or London’s ancient castles? During this time of social distancing, the ladies of Charity Court, our memory care neighborhood, are visiting these sites and many more thanks to It’s Never 2 Late (iN2L) person-centered technology.

Each week the elders take a different adventure to a new country. They create art projects and enjoy snacks that relate to the places they visited throughout that week, making this activity more than just something they watch – it’s an all-around cultural experience.

iN2L brings the world into our Charity Court community, providing an excellent tool for the staff to learn more about the elders and engage them in cognitive, sensory and tactile ways. The technology allows elders to use interactive screens and tablets to stimulate intellectual curiosity with easy access to the internet. iN2L is also used to stay connected with family and friends and view personal photos and videos that prompt joyful memories. It increases education, boosts moods and fosters communication with residents, their families and Nazareth Home staff.

The elders are connecting to the world in new and innovative ways. We may be isolated from the outside world, but we are going places we have never been, viewing stunning landscapes and majestic buildings, and seeing all that our beautiful world offers.

As we travel across the globe, we find peace, joy and happiness. Here’s to the next adventure!

“The most beautiful in the world is, of course, the world itself.” – Wallace Stevens
