Grateful Grief: What a long, strange trip it’s been!

You need not be a Dead Head to join this light-hearted and uplifting conversation exploring new perspectives on grief and its purpose, inspired by the lyrics and titles of songs by the Grateful Dead. Grief is the path by which we make our peace with loss, and this session will offer fresh, hopeful ways to understand that journey. Whether you’re navigating your own experience or supporting a loved one, this engaging discussion will provide meaningful insights and a new lens for one of life’s most important challenges.

PRESENTER: Joe Ferry, Project Manager and Counselor with Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center

Joe Ferry is the Program Manager and Counselor with Hosparus Health Grief Counseling Center with over 40 years of experience as a licensed clinical professional and certified thanatologist.  Together with his team, he is passionate about elevating the importance of grief, promoting it as both a healthy and necessary reaction and a healing response to loss.
He is known for his creative and sometimes unusual approaches to these serious and important life experiences.  His work combines art therapy, education, traditional counseling, and ritual to help others better navigate what is one of the most important challenges they encounter.  He credits his training as an Expressive Therapist for looking at these challenges as a creative opportunity.
