The Nazareth Homes Foundation was established to advance the person-centered mission of Nazareth Home, which reflects the values of spirituality, compassion, dignity, quality, stewardship, advocacy, collaboration, and innovation.
The Nazareth Homes Foundation awards the Sandra King Excellence and Education Fund Scholarship to deserving employees in the long-term care profession based on their academic achievements and commitment to quality care. The scholarship is offered to all Nazareth Home full-time and regular part-time employees attending an approved nursing or healthcare program. Individuals pursuing degrees other than nursing will be considered for scholarships.Â
Recipients are selected individually by the Nazareth Homes Foundation Board, using specified criteria outlined in the application. Applicants are chosen based on their professional qualifications, commitment to the profession, and letters of recommendation.Â
The Sandra King Excellence and Education Fund Scholarship was established to encourage higher education of long-term healthcare professionals in Kentucky. An applicant must be a Nazareth Home employee planning a career in long-term care. Qualifications include:Â
Scholarships will be paid directly to the educational institution to cover expenses incurred for tuition, books, or course-related fees. The scholarship amount is $1,500 per semester, with a maximum of $3,000 per school year.
The application period for 2022 is closed, and it will reopen summer of 2023.
