Support Groups and Community Programs

Nazareth Home is committed to creating life-affirming community through our unique belief that the entire community benefits when the people within it are physically, mentally and spiritually healthy. We build partnerships with all community members through a wide variety of health education programs. We believe in helping the entire community and not just the family and friends of Nazareth Home. We see ourselves as community resource for all.

Monthly Alzheimer’s Support Group/Education Series

Given that an estimated 74,000 Kentuckians currently are living with Alzheimer’s disease and this number is going to significantly increase over the next 10 years due to aging “baby boomers” population that is nearing the ages of greatest risk for the disease. In partnership with the Alzheimer’s Association, Nazareth Home is committed to help all families who are affected by this disease. The series is open to everyone.

All monthly sessions begin at 5:30 and last about an hour. All meetings are led by the Clinical Director for Charity Court (Nazareth Home’s Memory Care Unit) and by Gretchen Houchin, Program Director for Charity Court and Support Group Leader. Monthly Parkinson’s Disease Support Group

The Parkinson’s Support Group meets the second Tuesday of each month at 9:15am in Nazareth Home's Chapel. This gathering is free, provides mutual support, gives practical information, and provides information about care giving and community resources.  Nazareth Home’s Meals for Elders

Motivated by compassion and concern for all elders in our community, Nazareth Home provides home cooked meals for elders maintaining their independence and a healthy lifestyle. Regardless of your personal situation, Nazareth Home will work with you to provide a specific nutritional lunch and dinner that meets your one third of your daily requirements. This service is available Monday through Friday.
